attended International Conference on Improvement of Bamboo Productivity<br />
and Marketing for Sustainable Livelihood held at New Delhi during 15-17 April<br />
<strong>2008</strong>. Dr. Mohanan presented a paper entitled 'Potential Diseases and Disorders<br />
of Bamboos in India and their Management' and Dr. Muralidharan, on 'Plantlet<br />
Regeneration through Somatic Embryogenesis from Nodal Explants of Bambusa<br />
balcooa and Dendrocalamus brandisii Shoot Cultures Grown in vitro'<br />
(Muralidharan, E.M., Saritha, M.S., Shali, T.P. and Seethalakshmi, K.K.).<br />

attended the Environment Congress organised by the Centre for Environment<br />
and Development, Trivandrum and co-chaired a session on 25 April <strong>2008</strong>.<br />

Consultation on Production and Consumption Study of Wood organised by the <strong>Forest</strong><br />
Survey of India, at NASC Complex, ICAR Campus, New Delhi on 28-29 April <strong>2008</strong>.<br />

participated in the Seminar on Saraca asoca at Thrissur on 4 May <strong>2008</strong>, organized<br />
by the State Medicinal Plants Board, <strong>Kerala</strong> and presented a paper 'Production of<br />
Planting Materials of Saraca'.<br />
participated in the National Seminar on Medicinal Plants organized by the<br />
Ayurveda <strong>Research</strong> <strong>Institute</strong>, Poojapura at Trivandrum during 24-25 May <strong>2008</strong><br />
and presented a paper 'In situ Conservation of Medicinal Plants in <strong>Kerala</strong>'.<br />
participated in the Workshop on Medicinal Plants Cultivation organized by <strong>Kerala</strong><br />
<strong>Forest</strong> Department in KFRI on 25 August <strong>2008</strong> and presented a paper on<br />
'Cultivation Practices of 11 Medicinal Plants Prioritized for Cultivation by the<br />
<strong>Kerala</strong> <strong>Forest</strong> Department'.<br />
