were conducted at KFRI, Peechi.<br />

o served as a course coordinator for the Training Programme on Collection, Processing<br />

and Storage of Seeds of <strong>Forest</strong>ry and Medicinal Plants under FRLHT Programme.<br />

Also acted as a resource person and delivered two lectures on 'Seed collection in Medicinal<br />

Plants with Special Reference to Seeds Collected for the FRLHT Programme' and<br />

'Forms, Performas to be Used and Records to be Maintained in Connection with<br />

Seed Collection'.<br />

o conducted field visit and offered recommendations for tree planting at<br />

Souhrudaramam, Thanal Charitable Trust, Kiraloor, Thrissur, on 7 May <strong>2008</strong>.<br />

V.P. Raveendran<br />

o functioned as Coordinator/ Associate Coordinator for various TrainingProgrammes<br />

conducted at KFRI such as 'Tree Farming in Agroforestsry Systems and Wastelands',<br />

'Collection, Compilation, Validation and Dissemination of <strong>Forest</strong> Statistics',<br />

'Propagation,Cultivation, Management and Post-Harvest Technology of Bamboos'.<br />

o delivered a lecture on 'Bamboo Species Suitable for Propagation and Traditional<br />

Methods of Propagation' for the agricultural officers from Tamil Nadu Agricultural<br />

University , <strong>Forest</strong> College and <strong>Research</strong> <strong>Institute</strong>, Mettupalayam under TANHODA-<br />

NBM Programme in KFRI on 16 and 23 July <strong>2008</strong><br />

o gave a talk on 'Bamboo: Traditional Methods of Propagation' and conducted Field<br />

Demonstation of Vegetative Propagation to the farmers from Myrada Krishi Vigyan<br />

Kendra, Gopichettipalayam, Tamil Nadu during their visit (5 December <strong>2008</strong>) as<br />

part of the TANHODA- NBM training on at KFRI and to farmers from Trichy (27<br />

January 2009)<br />

o delivered a lecture on 'Bamboo- Traditional Methods of Propagation' in the Training<br />

Workshop 'Bamboo - A Global Cooling Agent' as part of the National Workshop<br />

on Global Warming and its Implication for <strong>Kerala</strong> at Techno Park, Trivandrum on<br />

20 January 2009<br />

o delivered a lecture on 'Bamboo Species Suitable for Propagation and Traditional<br />

Methods of Propagation' to the farmers from Karassery Panchayath (28 January<br />

2009) and to the farmers from Villupuram, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra (29 January<br />

2009), Thanjur/Thiruvarur, Tamil Nadu (24 February 2009) and Dindigal, Tamil<br />

Nadu (19 March 2009) during their visit to KFRI.<br />

C. Renuka<br />

o provided leaf samples of available palm species to scientists of CPCRI, Kasaragod<br />

for scientific study .<br />
