Ph. D. Programme<br />

Mr. P.K. Thulasidas was awarded Ph.D. (Wood Science & Technology) by FRI University,<br />

Dehra Dun in November <strong>2008</strong> for his thesis entitled 'Timber properties of teak (Tectona<br />

grandis L.f.) grown in the homesteads of <strong>Kerala</strong>' under the guidance of Dr. K.M. Bhat,<br />

Programme Coordinator, <strong>Forest</strong> Utilisation Division.<br />

Mr. K.A. Sreejith was awarded Ph.D. by FRI University, Dehra Dun in December <strong>2008</strong><br />

for his thesis entitled ' Ecological and ecophysiological studies on the successional status<br />

of tree seedlings in tropical wet evergreen and semi-evergreen forests of <strong>Kerala</strong>' under<br />

the guidance of Dr. U.M. Chandrashekara, Scientist-in-Charge, KFRI Sub-centre, Nilambur.<br />

Mr. K.C. Rajesh Kumar was awarded Ph.D. by FRI University, Dehra Dun for the<br />

thesis entitled 'Biodiversity of plant pathogenic fungi in natural forests in the<br />

<strong>Kerala</strong> part of Western Ghats' under the guidance of Dr. C. Mohanan, Scientist-in<br />

Charge, <strong>Forest</strong> Pathology Discipline.<br />

Ms. Sabna Prabha was awarded Ph.D. degree by FRI University, Dehra Dun in December<br />

<strong>2008</strong> for her thesis entitled 'Analysis of mating system and contemporary gene flow in<br />

natural teak forest and plantations through DNA marker studies' under the guidance of<br />

Dr. E.P. Indira, Scientist-in-Charge, <strong>Forest</strong> Genetics and Tree Breeding Discipline.<br />
