Liner and cover system - compacted clay liner ,geomembrane liners, geosynthetic clay liner - insitu permeability<br />
measurement <strong>of</strong> clay liners,<br />
Leachate quality and quantity collection pipes, drainage Materials; leachate recirculation and Treatment; Gas<br />
management and collection facilities.<br />
Module III<br />
Soil waste interaction; contaminant transport - advective, diffusive, dispersive and combined process -<br />
attenuation capacity- change in engineering properties; permeability, shear strength, atterbergs limit,<br />
compressibility and swell.<br />
Soil remediation- soil washing, fixation, electrokinetic remediation, biological treatment, thermal treatment and<br />

Question Paper:Duration:3 hours<br />
The question paper consists <strong>of</strong> Part A and Part B.<br />
Part A carries 40 marks. There will be 8 compulsory short answer questions covering entire syllabus.<br />
Part B is for 60 marks. There will be 2 questions from each module. The candidate has to answer one question<br />
<strong>of</strong> 20 marks from each module.<br />
