In July 2012, postcards of the winning
pictures and a book presenting the
15 most popular pictures of the competition
were produced. EFG and EGS are
delighted with the quality of the entries
received and were proud to present the
photo book and the postcards at the
34th International Geological Congress
at Brisbane as a tangible demonstration
of the fruitful cooperation between
EFG and EGS over many years. This
cooperation helps both to cement
relationships and mutual understanding
between different sectors of professional
geoscience and to bring the
excitement, beauty and importance of
the study and practice of geology to the
attention of the wider public.
