Política de VHSAR para reportar
abuso de animales
Qué hacer en caso de presenciar abuso de animales en Vieques:
1. Llame al 911 para reportar el incidente a la Policía. Llamar al 911 es
importante para establecer un récord del incidente.
2. Cuando la operadora del 911 le comunique con la Policía de Vieques,
pídale que se quede en línea, ya que puede ser que el oficial de
Vieques no hable inglés.
a. Pregunte el nombre y número de placa del Oficial de
Policía de Vieques a quien reporta su querella.
b. Ofrezca la información relacionada al incidente de
abuso de animales.
c. Pida a la Policía de Vieques que investigue (visite el
lugar del incidente).
3. Monitoree la situación de abuso.
4. Si la Policía de Vieques no responde dentro de las siguientes horas,
llame a la Sociedad Protectora de Animales y Rescate de Animales al
787-741-0209 durante horas laborables y reporte la situación y la falta
de respuesta de la Policía de Vieques.
5. El Administrador de la Sociedad Protectora de Animales informará del
incidente a las autoridades de mayor jerarquía en Puerto Rico.
VHSAR Policy on Reporting Animal Abuse
What to do if you witness an animal being abused on Vieques:
1. Call 911 to report the incident to the Police.
Calling 911 is important to establish a record of the incident.
2. When the 911 operator connects you with the Vieques Police Department
ask him or her to remain on the line because the Vieques Officer
may not speak English.
a. Request the name and badge number of the Vieques
Police Officer recording your complaint.
b. Give the pertinent information regarding the animal
abuse incident.
c. Request that the Vieques Police investigate (visit the
site of the incident).
3. Monitor the abuse situation.
4. If the Vieques Police Department does not respond within a few hours,
then call the Vieques Humane Society and Animal Rescue at 787 741-
0209 during working hours and report the situation and the lack of
Vieques Police response.
5. The Vieques Humane Society Shelter Manager will then bring the
incident to the attention of higher authorities in Puerto Rico.
