Tree, large. Branches pubescent when young, glabrescent. Leaves with stipules c. 1 mm long,<br />

caducous; petioles 5–12 mm long, tomentose, with 2 glands, terete; lamina elliptic to oblong<br />

lanceolate, 7–10.5 × 2.5–5.5 cm, acute or acuminate at apex with acumen to 4 mm long,<br />

rounded at base, glabrous above, grey-tomentose and with stomatal cavities beneath; primary<br />

veins 17–20 pairs, plane above, glabrous, prominent beneath; midrib plane above.<br />

Inflorescences terminal corymbose panicles; rachis and branches silver-brown-tomentose.<br />

Receptacle subcampanulate, brown-tomentose on exterior, densely tomentose within. Petals 5.<br />

Stamens 7 fertile, unilateral, with short staminodes opposite. Ovary villous. Style villous.<br />

Fruit globose, 3.5 cm diam.; exocarp densely verrucose; endocarp fibrous on exterior,<br />

densely lanate-tomentose within.<br />

2.3–4.5 cm, with acumen 8–12 mm long, rounded or subcuneate at base, sparsely lanatetomentose<br />

above when young, glabrescent, grey-tomentose and with stomatal cavities<br />

beneath; primary veins 19–22 pairs, prominulous above, prominent beneath; midrib slightly<br />

impressed above. Inflorescences terminal corymbose panicles; rachis and branches grey-brown<br />

tomentose. Bracts and bracteoles ovate, acute, equalling calyx in length. Receptacle<br />

subcampanulate, grey-tomentose on exterior, densely tomentose within. Petals 5, white. Stamens<br />

7 fertile, unilateral, with short staminodes opposite them. Ovary and base of style villous.<br />

Fruit narrowly oblong, 4–6 × 2.2–2.5 cm; exocarp minutely lenticellate; mesocarp thin,<br />

fleshy; endocarp hard and fibrous, pubescent within.<br />
