The Transmission maintenance Sub-Terminal,<br />

TST, consists of an Alarm Collection Magazine,<br />

ACM, <strong>and</strong> fault detection units. Each alarm collection<br />

magazine can be equipped with up to 16<br />

alarm collection boards giving a total capacity of<br />

896 sensing points<br />

a cassette tape unit are also required. All<br />

magazines are placed in BYB201 cabinets.<br />

TMT is controlled by an APN 163 central<br />

processor, <strong>and</strong> the same type of processor<br />

is also used <strong>for</strong> the cassette <strong>and</strong><br />

file administration.<br />

Each operator's work station connected<br />

to TMT can be equipped with a printer<br />

<strong>and</strong> a visual display terminal or typewriter<br />

terminal as required, fig. 12.<br />

TCT<br />

TCT, fig. 13, consists of a Supervision<br />

Control Magazine, SCM, <strong>and</strong> one or two<br />

fault location shelves in the M5 construction<br />

practice, or a fault location<br />

magazine in the BYB construction practice.<br />

The SCM contains an APN 166 processor,<br />

memory units <strong>and</strong> units <strong>for</strong> communication<br />

with TMT <strong>and</strong> TST. The fault<br />

location shelf/magazine contains a remote<br />

power feeding unit <strong>and</strong> a unit <strong>for</strong><br />

communcation with FDU.<br />

TST<br />

TST includes one or several Alarm Collection<br />

Magazines, ACM, <strong>and</strong> one or<br />

more FDUs <strong>for</strong> error rate measurements<br />

on terminal repeaters. In many cases<br />

FDUs are integrated in the line systems<br />

The alarm collection magazine, fig. 14,<br />

contains an APN 166 processor, a<br />

modem <strong>and</strong> alarm collection boards. It<br />

can also include boards <strong>for</strong> the operation<br />

of control points <strong>and</strong> alarm repetition.<br />
