In satisfying its mission <strong>to</strong> “develop the art, artists and arts audience of North Queensland”, the gallery<br />
offers a diverse program of local, national and international exhibitions complemented by a dynamic<br />
public program including lectures, performances and workshops.<br />
Due <strong>to</strong> its location, the gallery’s collection policy is based on the theme of “The Tropics”. The gallery and<br />
its off-site s<strong>to</strong>rage facility accommodate over 2,000 artworks, primarily contemporary Australian art,<br />
including works in a range of media by local artists and a small but significant holding of his<strong>to</strong>rical works<br />
and Indigenous fibre art.<br />
Gallery Exhibition Tours<br />
The gallery welcomes group bookings for <strong>to</strong>urs and provides dedicated staff who can provide insight in<strong>to</strong><br />
the works on display. A changing array of exhibitions and public programs are offered. Group exhibition<br />
<strong>to</strong>urs are available upon request, prior booking is essential. Lift access <strong>to</strong> the first floor is available. For<br />

Let Perc Tucker Regional Gallery be the artistic backdrop for your next function. Its central location and<br />
unique ambience makes it an ideal venue for distinctive cocktail parties, intimate dinners, launches,<br />

Volunteering at the Gallery<br />
Perc Tucker Regional Gallery is fortunate <strong>to</strong> currently have the services of over 60 volunteers from all<br />
walks of life. The contribution of this vibrant group in the areas of reception, administration, art classes,<br />
guided <strong>to</strong>urs, functions, installation and many other tasks, allows the gallery <strong>to</strong> operate at consistently<br />
high standards. The benefits of the volunteer program are mutual, with volunteers awarded the chance <strong>to</strong><br />
be involved in the ‘behind the scenes’ operation of <strong>Townsville</strong>’s regional gallery, meet new people, share<br />
existing skills, or develop a new area of interest, as well as constantly engage with art.<br />
