The Riverway Swimming Lagoons. Free form in shape, more than 4,000m 2 in size, ranging from 0.7m to 2m deep, and with a toddlers pool and beach area. council services >> waste services Waste Services provides a waste collection service, including recycling and disposal, from all domestic premises. The unit also operates a commercial refuse collection service. A system of free tipping vouchers is in place for use at Townsville’s Waste Facilities. Owners of residential properties in Townsville who pay a waste services charge as part of their quarterly Utilities Account are eligible. Free tipping vouchers will be distributed with the two Townsville City Council property rates notices each year (three vouchers per notice, a total of six per year). • Landlords are encouraged to pass vouchers onto their tenants. • Commercial customers cannot use the vouchers, and will continue to pay the relevant charges. Lost vouchers cannot be replaced. You will be able to dispose of domestic waste (including green waste) free of charge at any of the city’s waste facilities using your vouchers. Each voucher is equal to a car boot, a utility tray or a small trailer or four wheelie bins (or part thereof). For larger loads, additional vouchers may be used to pay or cash payments can be made at the gatehouse at each waste facility. Residents will need to present their vouchers to the gatehouse officer who will determine how many vouchers are required and/or the additional cost that may be incurred to allow for waste disposal. Vouchers cannot be used for some types of waste, including tyres, car bodies, asbestos and other regulated or ‘special waste’.
