Indigenous Resource Centre<br />

<strong>City</strong>Libraries hosts an Indigenous Resource Centre at Aitkenvale, Flinders Street and Thuringowa Central<br />

branches. The centre aims <strong>to</strong> assist Indigenous communities in becoming information-rich and <strong>to</strong> help<br />

build a united community. A wide variety of resources related <strong>to</strong> Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander<br />

his<strong>to</strong>ry and culture is available including the Norman B Tindale Collection and Margaret Lawrie collection.<br />

Baby Rhyme Time/S<strong>to</strong>ry Time<br />

Why not bring your grandchildren along for an hour of s<strong>to</strong>ries, songs and rhymes? S<strong>to</strong>rytime features<br />

s<strong>to</strong>ries, rhymes and a craft activity, and is the perfect way <strong>to</strong> introduce books <strong>to</strong> preschool aged children<br />

and encourage an interest in reading and libraries. S<strong>to</strong>ry time sessions are held at the Aitkenvale, Flinders<br />

Street, and Thuringowa Central branches and on Magnetic Island.<br />

Baby Rhyme Time uses songs, rhymes and finger plays <strong>to</strong> promote learning and spark a love of books in<br />

babies and <strong>to</strong>ddlers aged up <strong>to</strong> two years old. Please contact one of the branches for session times for<br />

these activities<br />
