SERVICES: The Job Assistance Readiness Training (JART) program provides services for low income youth and adults and is<br />

designed to increase skills, knowledge and opportunities for employment. JART connects participants to education and job<br />

training programs, and provides pre-employment skill building including the development of job search skills, work ethics, resume<br />

building, interviewing skills, and completing job applications. JART also offers the National Work Readiness Credential (NWRC)<br />

which evaluates critical employment entry level skills and provides a national, portable certification that affirms that individual job<br />

seekers have demonstrated the knowledge and skills needed for successful performance as entry-level workers.<br />

SERVICES: The New York State Department of Labor provides extensive and cost free employment-related services for both<br />

jobseekers and employers, including access to our universal employment database, staff recruitment coordination, applicant<br />

screening and job referral, employment/career counseling, jobseeker workshops and one-on-one re-employment assistance.<br />

Additional professional resources available at the NYS DOL include: an Employment Counselor specifically trained to provide<br />

career guidance and employment counseling; an Employment <strong>Services</strong> Representative, assisting employers with staffing needs,<br />

financial incentives, program awareness, and training information; and a Local Veterans’ Employment Representative, focusing on<br />

the particular needs of our military veterans.<br />

SERVICES: <strong>Oswego</strong> <strong>County</strong> Workforce New York serves both job seekers and employers in the local labor market. A career<br />

center is available with computers, phones, fax machines, copiers, a TTY and job related resource materials. <strong>Services</strong> include<br />

vocational assessment, workshops, career counseling, occupational skills training, job listings and referrals and screenings for<br />

local businesses. Space is available for local businesses to interview applicants. Programs and services are available to adults,<br />

dislocated workers, veterans and youth.<br />
