Long series straight shank drills
DIN 340
Range of application
Manufacturing specifications
HSS
Article no. 81320
Type H
R
For drilling deep holes or for use with drill
bushings in hard, crumbly materials such
as brass, magnesium alloys, bronze,
phosphor bronze, thin zamak and electron
slate, mica, pertinax. With a special
point grind eventually suitable for insulating
materials, ebonite, bakelite, galalithe,
celluloid, synthetic resins, horn
compounds, eternit, hardboard, perspex,
plastic laminates and plexiglas.
For drilling of eternit and hardboard with
a modified point the direction of lamination
is important to be considered i.e. for
drilling at right angles to the laminations
a point angle of 80-100° will give the best
results otherwise a point angle of 140° is
recommended.
Point grinding: relieved cone
Point angle: 118˚
For drilling deep holes or for use with drill
bushings in soft materials forming long
stringy swarf, such as aluminium alloys,
zinc, refined copper, silumin, electron,
zamak, argalium, soft synthetic materials
and wood.
Point grinding: relieved cone
