STAT immunoassays for cardiac
biomarker testing
Roche has introduced a complete battery of
STAT immunoassays for cardiac biomarker
testing on the cobas 6000 analyser series, the
integrated system designed for diagnostic
labs with medium testing volumes. With a
nine-minute duration, the assays are faster
than any other cardiac immunoassay tests
currently available on an integrated platform
and enable labs to deliver results to
doctors treating cardiac patients in about
half the time of standard Roche tests. The
tests include troponin T, CK-MB, myoglobin
and NT-proBNP, and are virtually
equivalent to the company’s 18-minute tests
in performance, precision and sensitivity.

the i-mLS is an
extremely userfriendly
software
that provides a high level of control of all
aspects of autoimmune IF testing. Designed
to be the ideal companion for the I-mLD
microscope, the software enables users to
capture and store microscope images and to
create a customised image catalogue for use
as a reference. The software also allows easy
result reporting and the addition of comments
from the analyst, which can be introduced
either into the basic system or into
a report format. In addition, the software
enables the inclusion of additional information
such as clinical comments and images
of patient tests, the consultation of results
by patient, test or session, as well as communication
with the LIS. When connected
to the i-Pro immunofluorescence processor,
the i-mLS software can import current session
information, read results at the microscope
and then export data back to the i-Pro
information on a new working session with
new or repeat test request. The system also
allows laboratory managers to maintain
traceability of reagents used in all tests performed
on the i-Pro and to remotely access
stored results from their own office.

Platelet disfunction test system
The next-generation of Siemens’ best-in-class
technology to detect inherited, acquired, and
drug-induced platelet dysfunction, the new
INNOVANCE PFA 200 system has userfriendly
updates including a colour LCD
touchscreen to access detailed patient and
result information, a barcode reader for digital
patient result tracking and LIS connection,
and a USB port to archive stored data. The
system also has multiple user-friendly software
updates, including new software that
supports closure curve illustrations for use in
scientific studies. Results, which are avaiable
in 4-8 minutes, allow rapid comprehensive
bleeding assessment. The system carries out
collagen/EPI and collagen/ADP tests and the
company’s latest addition, the P2Y test for
detection of platelet P2Y12-receptor blockades
in patients.
