G-HANZ, CipherLab form strategic alliance to
increase AIDC market share
G-HANZ has announced a strategic
partnership with CipherLab, a leading
innovator in Automated Identification
and Data Capture (AIDC) systems. As G-
HANZ CIPHERLAB, the companies will
jointly target emerging opportunities for
supply chain management systems and
auto ID equipment in United Arab
Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and India.
Exclusive interview with UK Ghosh,
CEO/Board Member of G-Hanz.
What is the objective and strategy
behind home entertainment and
international business solutions
provider company such as yours
entering the SCM and Data Capture
devices market?
G-HANZ has been a successful brand in
the consumer electronics domain over
the short span of 4 years. We have
found overwhelming acceptance and
appreciation among the end consumers,
power retailers, large concept retailers
and distributors through out our growth
process. However, in today’s fast
changing world, growth and excellence of
a brand would depend largely on the
ability to re-invent ones core values and
adapt to the challenges of the future. We
always believe in doing things the G-
HANZ way. We have made a conscious
effort to project G-HANZ as a technology
based company with constant innovation.
In this context, we have been investing in
developing a project division which
focuses on system integration solutions
and technology based products. This
division has successfully presented
Hotel Interactive television (HITV) and
Security Systems (CCTV). Since we
identified the Supply Chain Management
and associated vertical market segments
as a major growth area for the future, it
was a natural progression to move into
exciting areas such as AIDC (Automatic
Identification & data Capture) & RFID.
Now that you have made a foray into
Auto Identification and Data Capture
(AIDC) market, will you shift focus from
home entertainment to this area?
There will not be any shift in the focus. G-
HANZ will continue to maintain
independent and undivided focus on each
area through its dedicated divisions for
Entertainment as well as business
solutions. Both domains provide
complimentary forces which will reinforce
the identity and growth of the company.
Is this decision a reaction to the fact that
the AIDC market is increasingly
becoming more lucrative with less
competition?
AIDC global market is already worth
billions of dollars annually and growing
at a phenomenal rate, accelerated by the
enhanced emphasis on automation and
modernization. With the forces of
globalization dictating the course of the

future trends in supply chain and data
management areas, it is inevitable that
even the emerging markets embrace
AIDC technology with greater
commitment. Decision of G-HANZ to
move into AIDC is strategic and future
driven. However, it is not motivated by
so called ‘less competition.’ It is a
specialized technology field and we are
prepared to battle it out on merit, in order
to achieve success.
What do you really think of the UAE’s
logistics industry?
Endowed with its strategic geographical
location, UAE’s logistics industry has
attracted well known logistics brands
over the years. We can see healthy
fundamentals in place and we can expect
greater growth in line with the enormous
untapped potential. However, the rate of
