EDUCATION – A CORE VALUE<br />
Promoting education is one of <strong>the</strong> core values of <strong>the</strong> <strong>Broward</strong><br />
<strong>Center</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> Per<strong>for</strong>ming Arts and an integral part of our<br />
mission. At <strong>the</strong> heart of our commitment lies <strong>the</strong> belief that<br />
learning in and through <strong>the</strong> arts can serve as a powerful tool <strong>for</strong><br />
student achievement in your classroom curriculum. The season<br />
ahead offers a wide range of opportunities <strong>for</strong> both students and<br />
teachers to explore <strong>the</strong> arts through per<strong>for</strong>mances, workshops<br />
and special discounts. We hope that you will join us as we<br />
fulfill this important goal – “Arts in Service of Education.”<br />
A SHARED VISION<br />
Our partnership is one of <strong>the</strong> most unique in <strong>the</strong> nation. No<br />
o<strong>the</strong>r collaboration between a school district and per<strong>for</strong>ming arts<br />
center presents professional per<strong>for</strong>mances <strong>for</strong> more than 100,000<br />
students annually, at no charge to <strong>the</strong>ir families. Our national awardwinning<br />
SEAS program has shared <strong>the</strong> wonder of live per<strong>for</strong>mances<br />
with more than two million students since its inception.<br />
The success of our partnership is based on a shared vision that<br />
is focused in three specific areas:<br />
1. We combine <strong>for</strong>ces to ensure that all students achieve<br />
at <strong>the</strong>ir highest potential by supporting <strong>Broward</strong> <strong>Public</strong><br />
School curriculum and academic learning through <strong>the</strong> arts.<br />
2. We encourage professional development <strong>for</strong> educators by<br />
providing <strong>the</strong> expertise and resources required to promote<br />
best classroom practices <strong>for</strong> teaching through <strong>the</strong> arts.<br />
3. We recognize and celebrate <strong>the</strong> academic and cultural<br />
achievements of both students and teachers.<br />
Toge<strong>the</strong>r, <strong>the</strong> <strong>Broward</strong> <strong>Center</strong> and <strong>Broward</strong> <strong>Public</strong> <strong>Schools</strong><br />
continue to provide one of <strong>the</strong> best per<strong>for</strong>ming arts and<br />
education programs in <strong>the</strong> nation.<br />
ACCESS FOR ALL<br />
The <strong>Broward</strong> <strong>Center</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> Per<strong>for</strong>ming Arts encourages persons<br />
with disabilities to participate in <strong>the</strong> SEAS program and all o<strong>the</strong>r<br />
educational events held at <strong>the</strong> <strong>Center</strong>. Please note that <strong>the</strong> <strong>the</strong>aters,<br />
restrooms, and all o<strong>the</strong>r public areas are accessible by wheelchair.<br />
