Our customers
rely on us to
provide first-class
manufacturing with
up-to-date
technology as
an essential
prerequisite for
components of
optimum quality.
Automatic TIG welding machines
Our fully automatic TIG welding units provide high quality
and repeatable accuracy in the welding fabrication of
numerous parts. Our staff have many years of experience in
their profession and know exactly what matters. All welders
regularly prove their expertise by renewing their machine
operator’s and welder’s certificates.
Friction welding
This is the most versatile fusion method which allows more
materials and material combinations to be welded together
than any other process. We use this method for valve disk
fabrication to obtain full surface welded connections.
Deep-hole drilling
Deep-hole drilling achieves a very high ratio between
drilling depth and diameter. This method is used to drill
the leakage outlet in the valve disk. The main advantage
over conventional methods using twist drills is in the higher
surface quality of the holes.
Turbine wheel shot blasting
We use turbine wheel shot blasting machines for dulling
the exterior surfaces of serial parts. This method ensures the
uniform surface quality of the components.
Pre-assembly and plant engineering
To help maintain the required quality we always try to
pre-assemble as many components as possible – valve
clusters, swing bend panels and pipe fences – exactly
tailored to the customer’s needs. Here we use, for
example, bending and pull out techniques to keep
the number of welds as low as possible. Computeraided
orbital welding, logged welding parameters and
endoscopy all enable us to meet the specifications.
Trained and certified personnel are used for all
fabrication processes. Standardized CIP modules and
flash pasteurizers – all tailored to individual customer
requirements – complete our system engineering product
range. Planning is supported by computer-aided, two or
three-dimensional isometrics and if necessary by FEM and
stress analyses.
CNC lathes for complete machining
We use 6-axis CNC turning for medium and large scale
manufacturing. This involves machining steps in direct
sequence with high dimensional accuracies for complex,
well planned processes. These CNC lathes are used to
manufacture precision parts for various kinds of valves and
other parts.
Abrasive flow machining
For deburring, rounding off edges or polishing in difficultto-reach
areas, we use abrasive flow machining. By this
method we achieve the same high quality as for those more
readily accessible surfaces. The process can be used for outer
and inner surfaces.
Laser marking
Non-contact laser marking allows materials and components
to be traced and service activities to be identified.
Surface treatment
Matte, finish-ground, polished and electro-polished: we can
provide the finish required by individual market sectors
and achieve surface roughness of up to 15 Ra (0.4 µm).
Documentation can be supplied on request.
Manufacturing according to
DGRL DIN 97/23/EG
Since November 2001, GEA Tuchenhagen has been certified
for pressure equipment to category II, module E1.
Customer-oriented final assembly
Each customer order is executed using the “pull principle”
and “KANBAN concepts,” which allow high flexibility and
short cycle times in final assembly. Qualification and direct
responsibility of the team are an essential prerequisite for the
product quality achieved.
Electronics laboratory
The services range from simple analogue circuits up to
extensive field bus systems. In our development projects, we
produce, test and examine test prototypes and monitor them
until they are ready for series production.
