Ride for Ali<br />
On Saturday, November 3, over 300<br />
motorcycles filled the DSA parking lot to<br />
support wounded deputy Ali Perez and<br />
his family. Spearheaded by James Bovet,<br />
with support <strong>of</strong> the DSA, the SD LEO<br />
Wives, and several deputies, the quickly<br />
organized event raised over $14,000.<br />
While Ali was not able to ride, he cheered<br />
on the riders as they made their way<br />
past the hospital. He expressed interest<br />
in making the ride an annual event to<br />
support other injured law enforcement<br />
<strong>of</strong>ficers. While he <strong>of</strong>fered to help with<br />
future events, hopefully his physical<br />
therapy will have progressed enough for<br />
him to ride. <br />
