In front of the parking entrance to Hamar Olympic Hall, the<br />
artist Carl Nesjar has built an eight-metre-high water and ice<br />
fountain that will set its mark on the area around the hall both<br />
summer and winter.<br />

The wall painting “Open” is the name of the large painting<br />
that the artist Laila Nilsen has set up on the wall at the<br />
Exhibition Square at Hamar. The work is one of several<br />
projects supported by the Development Fund, a joint<br />
programme between LOOC and Hedmark and Oppland<br />
county municipalities.<br />
A r r i v a l ma r k e r s<br />
Three stone landmarks symbolize the arrival to the Olympic<br />
Region. The markers are located in Stange, Gjøvik and<br />
Ringebu. The landmarks are the work of artist Kåre Groven.<br />
sculpture is made of stainless steel, and Bjørlo has worked<br />
together with the Centre for Industrial Research on the<br />
construction of the complex geometric structure.<br />
K v i t f j e l l S t a r t H o u s e<br />
The Start House at the Olympic Alpine Centre, Kvitfjell (north<br />
of Lillehammer) was also given an artistic decoration. The<br />
architect Einar Hagem has given the roof of the start house a<br />
special design in the shape of the tip of a ski.<br />

The sculptor and painter Inger Sitter has obtained materials<br />
from Italy for the stone frieze that is situated in the passageway<br />
connecting two halls at the Hamar Olympic Amphitheatre.<br />
The frieze is 32 metres long and is made of white marble,<br />
slate-like grey carduso from Italy and grey granite from<br />
western Norway.
