Finally we just got on and sat down in a rather luxurious cabin. There were six
plush chairs to each cabin with ample leg room and overhead storage. I was
pleasantly surprised and I watched out of the window as we chugged away.
“I wish I had my camera.” Elly mused.
“Did you forget it?” I asked not having ever remembered seeing her with one.
“No I don’t have it yet. Maybe when I will be a photographer.” She said
wistfully.
“You want to be a photographer?” I asked.
I was surprised.
“Yes. Don’t you?” she asked.
“Not really.” I said.
I liked photos but I thought that with today’s cameras and software it didn’t take
an artist to take a good photo. I also thought that the subject was the interesting
thing and while a photographer might catch a subject at the right time, don’t
they need the subject to comply. An artist can create something from nothing,
by themselves. An artist can shape things to their vision, a photographer just
captures what is there.
“I would like to write though.” I said opening up.
