Hydrangea macrophylla
Bigleaf Hydrangea
Family: Hydrangaceae (Macro-phyll-a: large leafed)
Bold and brightly colored flowers are either mopheads (snowball-like flowers) or
lace-caps. Stock both types in range of colors; flower colors are dependent on soil
pH. Hydrangeas are fast and easy to grow, though we recommend that commercial
growers cease fertilization in August and run the plants very dry to help them
harden off for winter.

Big, funky, flying saucer lace-cap flowers emerge pink and white and mature
to hot pink atop black satin stems. Flower color can be pushed to blue with the

Cityline ® Series of Compact Hydrangea
Tired of floppy, weak-stemmed hydrangeas, especially at the time of
shipping Citylines are the answer. Developed in Europe where growth
regulators are prohibited so growers can finish a tight full plant without
chemicals, shearing or pruning off flower buds. Large flowers with vivid
colors, strong stems and dark glossy foliage characterizes these new
German hybrids. They’re all noted for excellent mildew resistance. Cityline
creates a knockout one gallon! Developed by Franz-Xaver and Konrad
Rampp of Germany.
