a. Golden Kippah - Coordinates the annual concert which raises funds for the support of Camp Ramah. Administers the funds that are raised to include investment and distribution. b. Man of the Year Dinner /Greenfield Award - One of the Vice Presidents is Chairman of the committee. Man of the Year Dinner honors an outstanding member from each of the constituent clubs. Grenfield Award honors a club from the region which meets the established criteria. One of these events will be conducted each year. c. Publicity/Public Relations – will edit the Remarks or any other reoccurring bulletin. Will be responsible for the region web page and e-mail servers. d. Education (conclaves) - One of the Vice Presidents is Chairman of the committee. Coordinates a Region wide training program in one or more locations at least once a year. e. Membership (new MCs) – A joint committee of the executive committee and the trustees whose purpose is to solicit new clubs from within the region. f. Programming - Executive Vice President chairs this committee. The committee provides venues for Regional programming such as MAR BOD meetings, Executive Committee meetings and other activities as dictated by the Executive Committee and the MAR BOD g. Nominating - Chaired by the Honorary President. Responsibilities and makeup of this committee are outlined in Article XIII h. Scholarship – a committee of trustees responsibly distributing endowment funds through a scholarship for Jewish education. i. Yom HaShoah Yellow Candle - One of the Vice Presidents is Chairman of the committee. Coordinates the Region wide Yom HaShoah Candle program. Coordinates with the FJMC chair to insure a successful program. Coordinates the purchase of candles to maximize the use of the available discounts. j. Convention - Executive Vice President chairs this committee. This committee will promote the FJMC convention within the Region and coordination convention activities within the FJMC. k. Budget - Chaired by the Financial Secretary. This committee will annually provide a balanced budget to the MAR BOD for approval as outlined in Article XVIII l. Audit - Chaired by the Financial Secretary. This committee will conduct an audit of all of the MAR books at prescribe by Article XVIII, Para. 6. 2. Special Committees The President may appoint such other Special Committees which he deems necessary or appropriate to carry out the work or administration of MAR or as may be directed by the MAR BOD. 3. No Committee Chair or member shall have the authority to enter or commit into any contract, oral or written, whether made in the name of the MAR or the committee or member. The sole power to enter or i4
commit into or for a contract shall rest with the President as approved by the MAR BOD (see Article VII para.. 1) 4. The President and Executive Vice President sit ex-officio on all committees except for those which they chair. Article XI – Vacancies 1. President – If the president’s office should become vacant for any reason, the Executive Vice President shall accede to the office of the President with all rights and responsibilities thereof. 2. MC representatives – will be appointed by the MC President. 3. Officers and other board members – If any other office should become vacant for any reason, the President, shall nominate a replacement for approval by the MAR BOD. Article XII – Relief from Office 1. An officer or MAR BOD member who does not fulfill his assigned responsibilities may be relieved of office by a 2/3 vote of a quorum of the MAR BOD. 2. Notice of an election to remove shall be served at least 15 days prior to the meeting at which the vote will take place. 3. Such notice shall be provided by certified mail to the individual(s) sought to be relieved. 4. Vacancies will be filled using the procedures outlined under Article XI – Vacancies. Article XIII – Nomination and Election of Officers 1. The Nominating Committee shall consist of the following: a. Honorary President shall chair this committee b. The next two preceding Past Presidents c. The President shall appoint four additional members for this committee from the MAR BOD. These members shall not be incumbent elected officers of MAR. d. The current President, who will not continue in office, shall be a voting member. e. No constituent MC shall have more than one representative on the Nominating Committee. 2. The Nominating Committee shall form in February and shall submit to the Corresponding Secretary, for dissemination to the MAR BOD and each constituent MC, at least one name for each elected office by the end of the first week of March. 3. Any additional nomination for officer shall be made by petition, in writing, signed by not less then two MCs in good standing and returned to the Nominating Committee within 14 days from notification of the slate developed by the Nominating Committee. i5
