in front of <strong>the</strong>m.
So what a difference <strong>the</strong>re is! Between one who kills himself in this method of Jihād, and
one who escapes from a hard life by committing suicide.
But if it is done haphazardly and on one’s own decision, <strong>the</strong>n this goes under <strong>the</strong> warning of
self-destruction. But if it is done upon <strong>the</strong> command of <strong>the</strong> leader of army (of Mujāhidīn),
<strong>the</strong> one who knows <strong>the</strong> realities of <strong>the</strong> battlefield, and its necessities, and its benefits, etc. –
<strong>the</strong>n this is something permissible. No, ra<strong>the</strong>r, it is something virtuous.”
