Another fundamental facet of the Archaeological<br />
Science program is the specialist element of our Field<br />
School teaching which takes place in our Lab. Here, the<br />
<strong>Egypt</strong>ian SCA Inspectors learn about ceramics, human<br />
bone, animal bone, plants, lithics, conservation, and illustration.<br />
This program has been very successful in providing<br />
<strong>Egypt</strong>ian archaeologists with specialist vocational<br />
skills which, in the past, have been normally provided by<br />
foreign missions to <strong>Egypt</strong>.<br />
In the following article from the Giza Lab, for example,<br />
Jessica Kaiser outlines the osteological results from<br />
the <strong>Khentkawes</strong> (<strong>KKT</strong>) skeletons. Her excavation team<br />
includes several members of the Supreme Council of<br />
Antiquities who were former students of the AERA Field<br />
School and who are now Field School teachers and remain<br />
an important part of both our AERA Field and Lab teams.<br />
