Scholarship for 2012
The Australian and New
Zealand College of
Anaesthetists invites suitable
applicants for the ANZCA
International Scholarship
for 2012.
This prestigious award is directed at
anaesthetists/pain medicine specialists
who are destined to be medical
leaders in their home countries. The
scholarship is offered to a recently
qualified specialist (up to 40 years of
age) from a developing country. It is
intended to provide an opportunity
for the specialist to develop skills to
manage a department, act as a role
model to local clinicians and promote
education and training in their home
country.
The scholarship is tenable for up to
one year in a department of a major
hospital in Australia or New Zealand.
It covers travel expenses between
the home country and Australia or
New Zealand. A living allowance will
be provided. During the tenure of
the scholarship it is expected that
the appointee will attend the annual
scientific meeting of the College
and other relevant activities.
The closing date for applications
is Friday August 12, 2011.
No late applications will be considered.

Scholarships for 2012
ANZCA makes available 20
scholarships each year to assist
anaesthesia trainees who are suffering
severe financial hardship. Each
scholarship will be awarded in the form
of a 50 per cent reduction in the annual
training fee for the following year.
Applicants must be registered trainees
of ANZCA.
Applications must be submitted on
the prescribed 2012 ANZCA training
scholarship application form, copies
of which are available from the College.

The closing date for applications for 2012
is Friday August 5, 2011. Successful
applicants will be notifi ed in November
2011.
Please note: If your fi nancial
circumstances improve during the
training year for which the ANZCA
Training Scholarship is awarded, you
must notify the College. Your application
will be reviewed and you may be
asked to relinquish all or part of
your scholarship.
