229 2. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA REGION Application of Differential.<br />

230 A $1.00 per hour differential shall apply for all hours worked, except<br />

for specified classifications denoted in the On-Call (Per-Diem) wage<br />

rates beginning on page 199.<br />

231 B. Limited Part-Time or On-Call Employees Who Are Not Eligible for<br />

Benefits.<br />

232 Employees who are converting or transferring from non-benefited to<br />

benefited status shall continue to receive the in-lieu of benefits differential<br />

until such time as they receive benefits (except Dental benefits).<br />

233 SECTION 5 – VOLUNTARY CHANGE TO ON-CALL STATUS<br />

234 A Regular Full-Time or Regular Part-Time Employee may voluntarily reduce<br />

his/her status to On-Call and will be paid at the rate he/she was receiving as a<br />

Regular Employee in addition to the appropriate differential.<br />

235 SECTION 6 – ALTERNATE COMPENSATION PROGRAM<br />

236 A Benefit-eligible Employee scheduled to work twenty (20) or more hours per<br />

week who can verify that he/she has medical coverage from a source other than<br />

his/her benefited status with Kaiser Permanente shall have the option of<br />

voluntarily participating in the Alternate Compensation Program which includes a<br />

20% differential in lieu of benefits (Statewide Appendix C).<br />

237 SECTION 7 – DISTRIBUTION OF OVERTIME AND ADDITIONAL HOURS<br />

238 A. NORTHERN CALIFORNIA REGION Distribution Procedure.<br />

239 1. Distribution of Overtime and Additional Hours.<br />

The Employer shall assign overtime and additional hours to<br />

Employees in a classification of a department who have<br />

volunteered to be on the list for overtime or additional hours. Such<br />

work will be offered by seniority: First, to all Regular Employees;<br />

then, to all LPT Employees; then, to On-Call and Temporary<br />

Employees.<br />

240 2. Assignment If There Are No Volunteers.<br />

If no one on the list volunteers for overtime or additional hours and<br />

no other qualified Employee volunteers, it will be assigned on a<br />

rotational basis by reverse seniority to those Employees on the list.<br />

If no list exists, such work will be assigned to qualified Employees<br />

in the department on a rotational basis by reverse seniority.<br />
