AGREEMENT<br />

THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into as of the 1st day of October, <strong>2012</strong> by and<br />

between Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc., Kaiser Foundation Hospitals, The<br />

Permanente Medical Group, Inc., and Southern California Permanente Medical Group<br />

(collectively, “Employer”) and United <strong>Healthcare</strong> <strong>Workers</strong>-<strong>West</strong> (“Union”).<br />

The parties hereto have agreed as follows:<br />

WITNESSETH:<br />

100 ARTICLE I – PURPOSE<br />

101 It is the intent and purpose of the parties to set forth herein their <strong>Agreement</strong><br />

covering rates of pay, hours of work and conditions of employment for<br />

Employees covered by this <strong>Agreement</strong>, to collaboratively work to provide high<br />

quality, affordable service and care for patients and members, and to promote<br />

harmonious relations between the Employer and the Union.<br />

102 ARTICLE II – COURTEOUS AND RESPONSIBLE RELATIONSHIPS<br />

103 The Union and the Employer, including all Kaiser Permanente managers,<br />

supervisors, physicians, Employees, and Union staff, agree:<br />

104 A. Treatment of One Another.<br />

That ethical and fair treatment of one another is an integral part of<br />

providing high quality patient care.<br />

105 B. Regardless of Profession.<br />

To treat one another, regardless of position or profession, with dignity,<br />

respect and trust, and recognize and appreciate the individual contribution<br />

each of us makes in our daily work.<br />

106 C. Ensuring Courtesy.<br />

To exhibit a personal, caring attitude toward each person with whom we<br />

interact and do so in ways that ensure courtesy, compassion, kindness<br />

and honesty.<br />

107 D. Communication and Input.<br />

To treat one another in the ways we want to be treated ourselves,<br />

including clear communications of expectations regarding performance,<br />

support of individual opportunities for growth, and provision of<br />

opportunities for input into decisions when they impact people directly.<br />
