463 3. Demotion to a Lower Paid Classification.<br />

An Employee demoted to a lower paid classification will be<br />

assigned to that tenure step of the scale of the lower paid<br />

classification that is equal to or closest to his/her former rate of pay.<br />

464 4. Credit for Time Spent in Former Classification.<br />

For all promotions and demotions, an Employee shall receive credit<br />

for time spent in the tenure step of his/her former classification for<br />

future tenure step increases in his/her new position.<br />

465 5. Temporary Relief in a Higher Paid Classification.<br />

An Employee working in a higher paid classification shall be paid<br />

for all hours worked (except for relief of breaks and meals) at the<br />

step in the higher paid classification which provides a minimum<br />

increase of fifteen cents ($0.15).<br />

466 6. Working in Two Classifications.<br />

An Employee who as part of his/her regular pre-determined work<br />

schedule performs work in another classification, he/she shall be<br />

paid at a rate based on the ratio of time spent in each classification.<br />

467 7. Managerial Positions.<br />

No Employee shall be required to relieve in a non-bargaining unit<br />

managerial position.<br />

468 C. NORTHERN CALIFORNIA REGION Registered Dietitian Provisions.<br />

469 1. Promotion to a Higher Paid Classification.<br />

An employee promoted from a classification to the next<br />

classification level shall be paid the at the same step rate of the<br />

new classification.<br />

470 2. Demotion to a Lower Paid Classification.<br />

An employee who is permanently transferred to a position in a<br />

lower grade shall receive the step rate which is equal to or next<br />

below his/her former rate.<br />

471 3. Credit for Time Spent in Former Classification.<br />

For all promotions and demotions, an Employee shall receive credit<br />

for time spent in the tenure step of his/her former classification for<br />

future tenure step increases in his/her new position.<br />
