used to assist the process.

2.3.5 Safety valve discharge
A pressure relief safety valve is fitted in the boiler set to the
maximum operating pressure of the boiler of 3 bar.
If the pressure in the boiler becomes too high the pressure
is relieved by releasing water to outside via the safety valve
discharge pipe. The discharge pipe should be fitted in accordance
with British Standards and must be at least 15 mm Ø.
The pipe should be positioned so that the discharge of water
or steam is visible and cannot create a hazard to the occupants
of the premises or damage the electric components and
wiring. In addition the discharge should be located where it is
unlikely to cause damage to the premises.
