1. One hundred ($100) dollars per pay period for a total<br />

of $2,600.00 annually each fiscal year but will only<br />

be paid during the first six months upon entering the<br />

firefighter’s initial STEP Program.<br />

Section 7.<br />

Incentives<br />

A. Exclusive of paramedic certification and degree incentive,<br />

an employee shall be limited to three (3) certifications<br />

for incentive pay purposes. Incentives will be based on<br />

the certificates which yield the highest monetary amount.<br />

B. Inspector Certification<br />

Employees, who achieve and maintain Florida state<br />

certification as Municipal Fire Safety Inspectors, shall be<br />

compensated fifty dollars $50.00 per month in addition to<br />

the base rate of pay.<br />

C. Trainer Certification<br />

Employees who achieve and maintain Florida state<br />

certification as Basic Instructor Certificates shall be<br />

compensated fifty dollars $50.00 per month in addition to<br />

the base rate of pay.<br />

D. Technical Rescue Technician Certification<br />

Existing qualified employees who are certified as Technical<br />

Rescue Technicians at the time of this Agreement will be<br />

eligible for incentive pay in the amount of seventy-five<br />

($75.00) dollars per month. To receive this incentive pay,<br />

such employees must maintain current certifications in all<br />

of the following: Confined Space Rescue, Rope Rescue,<br />

Vehicle Extraction, and Trench Rescue. Effective October 1,<br />

2007, eligibility for this incentive pay will cease to<br />

apply. Only existing employee’s who currently hold this<br />

certification shall be entitled to receive said incentive<br />

pay.<br />

E. Hazardous Materials Technician Certification<br />

Qualified employees who are authorized as a Hazardous<br />

Materials Technician (HMT) by Fire Rescue Administration,<br />

shall receive incentive pay in the amount of twenty-five<br />

hundred ($2,500.00) dollars annually to be paid bi-weekly<br />

at the rate of $96.15 over twenty-six (26) pay periods as<br />

long as authorization is maintained.<br />
