10.1 NATIONAL SUSTAINABILITY INDICATORS<br />
Government has been developing a range of indicators in order to measure and monitor performance, in order to assess<br />
against policy. This applies to sustainable development as much as any other sphere. Indeed, sustainability indicators<br />
have also been produced by Shropshire County Council and British Waterways. The table below lists the main national<br />
indicators (from a list of 147) which the <strong>Montgomery</strong> <strong>Canal</strong> restoration will make a strong contribution to.<br />
