GENERAL INSTRUCTION OF THE ROMAN MISSAL<br />

- if it is directed to <strong>the</strong> Fa<strong>the</strong>r, but <strong>the</strong><br />

Son is mentioned at <strong>the</strong> end: Qui<br />

vivit et regnat in saecula saeculorum<br />

(Who lives and reigns for ever and<br />

ever);<br />

- If it is directed to <strong>the</strong> Son: Qui vivis et<br />

regnas in saecula saeculorum (You<br />

live and reign forever and ever).<br />

The people make <strong>the</strong> prayer <strong>the</strong>ir own by<br />

<strong>the</strong> acclamation: Amen.<br />

D) THE CONCLUDING RITES<br />

90. The Concluding Rites consist <strong>of</strong>:<br />

a) brief announcements, if <strong>the</strong>y are<br />

necessary;<br />

b) <strong>the</strong> priest’s greeting and blessing,<br />

which on certain days and occasions<br />

is enriched and expressed in <strong>the</strong><br />

Prayer over <strong>the</strong> people or ano<strong>the</strong>r<br />

more solemn formula;<br />

c) <strong>the</strong> dis<strong>missal</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> people by <strong>the</strong><br />

deacon or <strong>the</strong> priest, so that each<br />

may go out to do good works,<br />

praising and blessing God;<br />
