FFeatured Horse of the Month…Samuel Buck
The fun loving, beautiful American Saddlebred gelding, Samuel Buck, is a
favorite around the barn. Although Buck is ALL show horse, he is mainly
known and treasured for his personable, curious personality. He will not be
overlooked even in the busiest of times. He always has the attitude of “hey,
what about me!” which has endeared him to the hearts of many, including
parents. Buck has taught the advanced junior riders the love, appreciation
and art of Saddleseat riding. We have been very fortunate to have this
handsome, smart as well as talented horse in our barn.
4-H Club News…
At the July meeting, members learned the importance of a sound feeding
program. They were also taught how to recognize bad or poor quality grain
and hay, which can cause mild to severe life threatening colic. Once the educational
portion was completed, they all shared in the hands on experience
Summer Camp…
Malachi campers made so
many wonderful memories
with horses and friends.
With the help of Lauren
and Heather, students put
on their first Dressage
show. The schooling show
truly tested their riding Campers creating horse treats
skills and abilities. In addition
to the Dressage show, other practice shows
were performed throughout the summer. The
campers made a variety of horse treats that were
devoured by the school horses. THEY were the
“happy campers” at treat time. Miss Debbie once
again provided a variety of weekly drawings and
activities, all horse related of course, for the
campers to enjoy. Thank you to Debbie and all
the counselors who helped make this camp year a
