Hang on to the Word of God

I was sharing with our church congregants this past Sunday about the
subjects of persistence and determination. When one reads the
biographies of successful men and women in any field of endeavor,
they usually find the outstanding characteristics of tireless persistence
and determination.
They seem to have this uncanny ability to withstand severe
punishment time and time again, even when they fall short and every
turn seems to be a dead end. When they gain a foothold and start to
move forward and some other devastating element snatches it from
under their feet, they continue to press on.
We’re living in a season where the discipline of determination
separates the men and women from the boys and girls. It separates the
tenacious from the timid, the faint-hearted from the fight-hearted
and the professors from the possessors.
The Christian motto and byword of discipline of determination is
“NEVER GIVE UP!” Under any adversity or pressure, never give up.
We need to keep fighting and holding on and absolutely refuse to give
up, give in, or give out! Someone said,“When you’re at the end of your
rope, tie a knot and hang on!”
Believers need to tie a knot in the Word of God and hang on no
matter what. We’re supposed to find out what provisions are offered
us through God’s Word and hold fast to them until we see the
culmination of victory.

Nothing in this world will take the place of persistent determination.
Talent will not. Nothing is more common than unsuccessful talent.
Genius won’t—unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Educations
will not—the world is filled with educated derelicts.
Only persistence and determination and faith in God and His
provisions for your life will bring success. We need to hold on to the
Bible kind of hope. Bible hope is an earnest expectation beyond doubt
that what you’re believing God for is definitely coming to pass.
[Proverbs 10:28] says, “The hope (trusting and expecting in God) of
the righteous shall be gladness. God knows the end from the
beginning. [Proverbs 23:28] says, “For surely there is an end and your
expectation of that end shall not be cut off.”
If you’re at the end of your rope today, tie a knot in God’s rope (His
Word) and hang on! Speak to your soul today as David did in [Psalm
62:5], “My soul waits only upon God for my expectation is
from Him.”
Remember that God is a good God, He loves you, and He wants to
bless you!
