• <str<strong>on</strong>g>The</str<strong>on</strong>g> type names are abbreviated <strong>on</strong> <strong>the</strong> SP2060 screen.<br />

For example, “24dB/Oct Bessel” <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> d<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g>played as “24Bessel.”<br />

• Gc page <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> d<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g>played if you select “Adjust Gc” for <strong>the</strong> Type<br />

parameter.<br />

LIBRARY<br />

Using libraries facilitates <strong>the</strong> recall of optimal speaker settings.<br />

Up to 60 libraries are available for each comp<strong>on</strong>ent via<br />

<strong>the</strong> DME Designer applicati<strong>on</strong>.<br />

Foreword<br />

• Thru<br />

No filter <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> applied. <str<strong>on</strong>g>The</str<strong>on</strong>g> original character<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g>tics are kept<br />

with no attenuati<strong>on</strong> for all frequency ranges.<br />

• AdjustGc (Adjustable Gc)<br />

Filters with an Adjustable Gc enable you to adjust <strong>the</strong> gain<br />

at <strong>the</strong> cutoff frequency in <strong>the</strong> range of –6dB through<br />

+6dB. With Gc set to –3dB, <strong>the</strong> filter <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> practically a Butterworth<br />

filter. And with Gc set to –6dB, <strong>the</strong> filter <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> practically<br />

a Linkwitz-Riley filter.<br />

• Butrwrth (Butterworth)<br />

Th<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> filter <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> <strong>the</strong> most comm<strong>on</strong> type of filter. It has a flat<br />

pass band and a –3dB gain at <strong>the</strong> cutoff frequency.<br />

• Bessel<br />

Th<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> filter focuses <strong>on</strong> <strong>the</strong> phase character<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g>tics. Although it<br />

has a more gradual roll-off than a Butterworth filter, it will<br />

pass a square wave without causing ringing.<br />

• Linkwitz (Linkwitz-Riley)<br />

Th<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> filter features <strong>the</strong> square of <strong>the</strong> sec<strong>on</strong>d order. When<br />

<strong>the</strong> output signal from its LPF and HPF are combined, <strong>the</strong><br />

gain over <strong>the</strong> entire range <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> +/–0dB. It has a flat pass band<br />

and a –6dB gain at <strong>the</strong> cutoff frequency.<br />
