to <strong>the</strong> device or o<strong>the</strong>r property. <str<strong>on</strong>g>The</str<strong>on</strong>g>se precauti<strong>on</strong>s include, but are not limited to, <strong>the</strong> following:<br />

Power supply/Power cord<br />

• Remove <strong>the</strong> electric plug from <strong>the</strong> outlet when <strong>the</strong> device <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> not to be used for<br />

extended periods of time, or during electrical storms.<br />

• When removing <strong>the</strong> electric plug from <strong>the</strong> device or an outlet, always hold <strong>the</strong><br />

plug itself and not <strong>the</strong> cord. Pulling by <strong>the</strong> cord can damage it.<br />

Locati<strong>on</strong><br />

• Before moving <strong>the</strong> device, remove all c<strong>on</strong>nected cables.<br />

• When setting up <strong>the</strong> product, make sure that <strong>the</strong> AC outlet you are using <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

easily accessible. If some trouble or malfuncti<strong>on</strong> occurs, immediately turn off<br />

<strong>the</strong> power switch and d<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g>c<strong>on</strong>nect <strong>the</strong> plug from <strong>the</strong> outlet. Even when <strong>the</strong> power<br />

switch <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> turned off, electricity <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> still flowing to <strong>the</strong> product at <strong>the</strong> minimum<br />

level. When you are not using <strong>the</strong> product for a l<strong>on</strong>g time, make sure to unplug<br />

<strong>the</strong> power cord from <strong>the</strong> wall AC outlet.<br />

• If th<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> device <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> to be mounted in an EIA-standard rack, leave <strong>the</strong> back of <strong>the</strong> rack<br />

open and make sure that it <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> at least 10 cm away from walls or surfaces. Also, if<br />

th<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> device <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> to be mounted with devices that tend to generate heat, such as<br />

power amplifiers, be sure to keep an adequate gap between th<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> device and <strong>the</strong><br />

heat-generating devices or install ventilati<strong>on</strong> panels to prevent high<br />

temperatures from developing inside th<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> device.<br />

Inadequate ventilati<strong>on</strong> can result in overheating, possibly causing damage to <strong>the</strong><br />

device(s), or even fire.<br />

• If several of <strong>the</strong> devices are mounted in an EIA-compliant rack, carefully read <strong>the</strong><br />

secti<strong>on</strong> “Precauti<strong>on</strong>s for Using a Rack-mounted SP2060” <strong>on</strong> page 8.<br />

•Avoid setting all equalizer c<strong>on</strong>trols and faders to <strong>the</strong>ir maximum. Depending <strong>on</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> c<strong>on</strong>diti<strong>on</strong> of <strong>the</strong> c<strong>on</strong>nected devices, doing so may cause feedback and may<br />

damage <strong>the</strong> speakers.<br />

• Do not expose <strong>the</strong> device to excessive dust or vibrati<strong>on</strong>s, or extreme cold or heat<br />

(such as in direct sunlight, near a heater, or in a car during <strong>the</strong> day) to prevent<br />

<strong>the</strong> possibility of panel d<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g>figurati<strong>on</strong> or damage to <strong>the</strong> internal comp<strong>on</strong>ents.<br />

• Do not place <strong>the</strong> device in an unstable positi<strong>on</strong> where it might accidentally fall<br />

over.<br />

• Do not use <strong>the</strong> device in <strong>the</strong> vicinity of a TV, radio, stereo equipment, mobile<br />

ph<strong>on</strong>e, or o<strong>the</strong>r electric devices. Doing so may result in no<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g>e, both in <strong>the</strong> device<br />

itself and in <strong>the</strong> TV or radio next to it.<br />

C<strong>on</strong>necti<strong>on</strong>s<br />

• Before c<strong>on</strong>necting <strong>the</strong> device to o<strong>the</strong>r devices, turn off <strong>the</strong> power for all devices.<br />

Before turning <strong>the</strong> power <strong>on</strong> or off for all devices, set all volume levels to<br />

minimum.<br />
