11. A 52 year old female suffers from osteoarthritis, hepatitis C, vertigo, asthma,
sleep apnea, and symptoms similar to multiple sclerosis. The care provider is
stealing the victim's prescription medications and placing her in danger by driving
her to appointments under the influence of these medications.
12. A recent open-heart surgery patient, a 72 year old male, was physically
assaulted by his adult son in the home resulting in need for minor medical care.
The son is also financially exploiting the client, leaving him with no money for
food.
13. The parent of a 19 year old developmentally disabled boy keeps him locked in
his room sometimes, uses his income for her own needs, and calls victim
"faggot."
14. A 51 year old female victim suffers from breathing problems, anxiety, and
depression. Her common law spouse in the home physically and verbally abuses
the victim who is too fearful of retaliation to report the abuse to the police.
15. A frail 91 year old woman with mild dementia, receiving hospice services in
her home, suffered bruising and skin tears resulting from physical abuse by one
of her care providers.
16. A 79 year old female who lives alone in a very rural area was contacted about
non-payment of a loan. During the conversation, she had no idea what the
reporting party was talking about. She asked at least five times who she was
speaking to, what they were talking about, etc. The reporting party is concerned
for her mental status and ability to care for herself.
17. A 39 year old female is living in a filthy house with three underage children.
She has PTSD, depression, panic attacks, and is not taking her medication. CPS
called after a home visit.
18. A 100 year old male lives with others in a home which is in deplorable
condition and a health hazard.
19. A 71 year old woman has lost weight down to 90 lbs. The alleged victim is
trying to change her will. The family believes her husband is putting something in
the food. The victim might have dementia.
20. A 68 year old man is experiencing frequent falls. He is living in congregate
senior housing.
21. A home health aide found a 61 year old male victim lying in urine and feces.
Broken glass and cigarette butts were on the floor.
22. A 70 year old woman is looking for a place to move to after receiving 60-day
notice and is overwhelmed and anxious. She has experienced the deaths of
three loved ones last year.
23. An 81 year old diabetic wheelchair user is left alone all day without food. The
victim is unclear in her thinking processes. She stays in a basement room with
only a commode and no kitchen or bathroom access. It is unclear whether she
can transfer to the commode. Plastic sheeting covers the staircase to the rest of
the house.
