Advances in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery:
Computer Guided Implant Surgery
While the paradigm “prosthetically driven implant therapy” is widely
accepted and promoted, achieving this objective can be elusive with the
application of conventional technologies. Utilizing cone-beam CT imaging,
the application of computer guidance systems provides symbiosis
between the surgical diagnosis, prosthetic treatment plan, bone graft surgery
and surgical implant placement, and can ensure that the surgical
reconstruction provides the restoring dentist with the most desirable
foundation to support the intended prosthesis.

The NEW RCDSO Sedation Guidelines –
Minimal, Moderate, or Deep
This presentation will provide a synopsis of the 2009 revised RCDSO
Sedation Guidelines and will be a practical distillation of the guidelines
with information to facilitate the incorporation of sedation into dental
patient care. Although all sedation modalities will be addressed, the focus
of this presentation will be describing the required equipment and training
to carry out the types of sedation most used by general practitioners
(minimal and moderate conscious sedation) in accordance with these
newly revised regulations.
