Ensemble Management Portal 1.1 System Requirements The Ensemble Management Portal runs on Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher. Additionally, the Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) Viewer 3.0 must be installed on the system that is running Ensemble. If you encounter any problems, you can double-check your installation by looking for SVG Viewer under the Adobe products installation folder on the machine where you run the Ensemble Management Portal. 1.2 Starting the Portal You can start the Ensemble Management Portal in one of the following ways: • Starting from the System Management Portal • Starting from Studio • Bookmarking the [Ensemble] home page URI once you navigate to it in your browser. For example, the Ensemble Management Portal home page URI in the Ensemble namespace for a default new installation is: http://localhost:57772/csp/ensemble/UtilEnsHome.csp If your system security requires it, a login page may display at some point in your navigation with a Please login prompt. See the Login section for details. 1.2.1 Starting from the System Management Portal To start the Ensemble Management Portal from the System Management Portal: 1. Click the Ensemble launcher in the Windows system tray and click System Management Portal to display the System Management Portal [Home] page. 2. Click Ensemble Management Portal located at the bottom of the System Administration column on the left-hand side. 3. Depending on the security of your system you may encounter a login page. Enter your username and password and click Login to continue to the [Ensemble] home page. 1.2.2 Starting from Studio To start the Ensemble Management Portal from Studio: 1. On the File menu, click Change Namespace to display the Connection Manager. 2. Choose a Server and Namespace (choose an Ensemble namespace) and click OK. 3. If necessary, enter the Username and Password for that namespace and server. 4. Click OK to save your changes, Cancel to cancel them. 5. On the Utilities menu, click Ensemble Management. 6. Depending on the security of your system you may encounter a login page. Enter your username and password and click Login to continue to the [Ensemble] home page. 4 Managing Ensemble Productions
Login 1.3 Login The Ensemble Management Portal login page displays whenever you start the portal or leave the portal idle for more than 15 minutes and you have more than minimal security on your instance. You may see a login page earlier in your navigation to the Ensemble Management Portal in either the System Management Portal or Studio, depending on the security configuration of your system. 1.3.1 Logging into the Portal From the login page, you can log into the Ensemble Management Portal as follows: 1. If you have more than one Ensemble namespace, the login page includes a Namespace list. Click the appropriate namespace from the Namespace list. If you have only one Ensemble namespace, the login page automatically selects that namespace. 2. In the Username and Password fields, enter the username and password for a user account defined in the namespace. The default login for any namespace is the username _SYSTEM with a password of SYS. 3. Click Login to display the [Ensemble] home page. 1.3.2 Working with Login Accounts You can change the _SYSTEM password associated with an Ensemble namespace, or add new login accounts, by using the System Management Portal [Home] > [Security Management] > [Users] > [Edit User] page. For instructions, see the Creating and Editing Users section in the “Users” chapter of the Caché Security Administration Guide. 1.3.3 Working with Namespaces For information about namespaces in Ensemble, see the Namespaces section in the “Production Concepts” chapter of Developing Ensemble Productions. 1.3.4 Working with Security Settings For each Ensemble-enabled namespace there is a CSP application that needs to be properly configured to run the Ensemble Management Portal. Normally there is nothing you need to do about this. At installation time, the CSP applications in the namespaces ENSEMBLE and ENSDEMO acquire the following authentication settings, depending on the type of security that you select at installation time. Security Level Minimal Normal Locked Down Type of Authentication Unauthenticated Password Password, Kerberos, and LDAP During installation, Ensemble identifies the level of security you select and saves this information for future use. Any time you create a new namespace, the built-in CSP applications in that namespace acquire the appropriate authentication settings for that security level. Managing Ensemble Productions 5
