BIOGRAPHIES
Saeed H. Abdrab Al-Reda is a Gas
Engineering Supervisor with the Gas
Development Drilling Department
where he has been since June 2007.
Before joining Saudi Aramco in
1992, he worked for a year with the
Saudi Fertilizer Company (SAFCO) as
a Process Engineer. Saeed has worked in various roles,
including Senior Drilling Engineer, Drilling Engineer,
Toolpusher, Assistant Foreman, and Drilling Foreman
within the Drilling and Workover Department and as a Site
Foreman for the Gas Production Department.
In 1991, Saeed received his B.S. degree in Chemical
Engineering from King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi
Arabia.
He is the author and coauthor of five technical papers
on Drill in Fluid (DIF) and Horizontal Drilling.
Abdullah A. Al-Kubaisi is a Gas
Engineering Supervisor with the Gas
Development Drilling Department
where he has been since June 2007.
He joined Saudi Aramco in
February 1991, and has worked in
various roles including Senior Drilling
Engineer, Drilling Engineer, Tool Pusher, Assistant Foreman
and Drilling Foreman within the Drilling and Workover
Department.
In 1990, Abdullah received his B.S. degree in Petroleum
Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and
Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
Khalid Nawaz joined Saudi Aramco in
2005 and currently works as a Drilling
Engineer on a deep gas rig, and also as
an acting Supervisor in the Gas
Development Drilling Department. He
has 19 years of drilling experience in
all phases of drilling.
Khalid received his B.E. degree in Mechanical
Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi,
India, and went to work in drilling for the Oil and Natural
Gas Corporation (ONGC) in India. During his 16 years
there, he also worked in the R&D Institute and the
technology group in Bombay Offshore. Khalid is also
associated with and worked as an executive committee
member with Petrotech, the Indian oil and gas conference
and exhibition held every 2 years in India.
Muhammad F. Jamil is presently
supervising the Technical Department
for Halliburton Drill Bits & Services
(HDBS), Saudi Arabia, for one of the
largest E&P Operations in the Middle
East. He joined Schlumberger Wireline
- Pakistan in 2003 as a Field Engineer,
working there until 2003. Muhammad later joined HDBS
as a Country Lead and then was transferred to the
international staff with an assignment in Saudi Arabia as
the Service Coordinator for Business Development. He
then shifted to the Deployed Technology Group and his
current position.
Muhammad graduated with a B.S. degree (with Honors)
in Engineering from the University of Engineering and
Technology, Lahore, Pakistan in 2002.
His main interest is in PDC product design and
development.
Octavio Alvarez has 14 years of
experience in drilling operations and
specializes in bits and coring
technology. He has worked in various
locations including Latin America, the
Middle East and North Africa, and is
currently based in Oman. Octavio is
the Chief Applications and Design Engineer for the Middle
East and North Africa region for Security-Halliburton. His
related activities include drill bit and corehead design and
applications, technical support, post-run analysis and bit
optimization and technical training. Octavio’s interests
include drilling operations knowledge focused on Geology,
BHAs, downhole tools and rotational devices.
In 1994, he received his B.S. degree in Petroleum
Engineering from the Universidad de America, Bogota,
Colombia.
Baseem E. Qattawi is the Senior
Account Representative with
Halliburton Drill Bits & Services
(HDBS). He joined HDBS in 2006,
and has worked in various roles
including application engineering and
business development. Before joining
HDBS, Baseem worked for three years with Kodak
Industrial Division as a Service Engineer, then he moved on
to work with Hatcon as a Product Manager for five years.
In 1998, Baseem received his B.S. degree in Mechanical
Engineering from the Philadelphia University, Amman,
Jordan.
