with the skills necessary for basic review <strong>of</strong><br />

How to Take Yourself to New Heights:<br />

Scaling the AAP Redwoods<br />

This session, dedicated to the Section on Medical<br />

Students, Residents, and Fellowship Trainees, has<br />

an agenda that will speak to all <strong>of</strong> our members,<br />

in all levels <strong>of</strong> training. The keynote speaker will<br />

instill in all participants a renewed sense <strong>of</strong> meaning<br />

and commitment in and to medicine. The Anne<br />

E. Dyson Child Advocacy Awards will be presented,<br />

where residents will hear about the outstanding<br />

efforts their peers have performed over the last<br />

year to improve the health <strong>of</strong> children in their communities.<br />

The section advocacy campaign also will<br />

be introduced, which will help medical students,<br />

residents, and fellowship trainees become more<br />

involved on a variety <strong>of</strong> levels, and provide them<br />

with the opportunity to improve the lives <strong>of</strong> many<br />

children. The breakout sessions will cover informational<br />

topics on research in residency and beyond,<br />

how to learn throughout one’s career, common<br />

medical equipment found in pediatric home care,<br />

and how to talk and speak about oneself in a pr<strong>of</strong>essional<br />

manner. The medical students will have<br />

their own breakout session on how to prepare for<br />

a pediatric residency.<br />
