Leadership & Management<br />

Goals & Intended Outcomes<br />

The <strong>Academy</strong> has a strong heritage and a long tradition <strong>of</strong> faith, adaptability and courage.<br />

The wisdom, experience and expertise <strong>of</strong> all staff members make an enduring contribution <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

collective consciousness and <strong>the</strong> rich s<strong>to</strong>ry <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Academy</strong>. Each staff member’s knowledge and skills<br />

add value <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> educational experience <strong>of</strong> each student and <strong>to</strong> her family’s relationship <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> College.<br />

We are enriched by <strong>the</strong> presence <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Sisters <strong>of</strong> Mercy in <strong>the</strong> <strong>Academy</strong> convent who play a vital role in<br />

College life.<br />

The stewardship <strong>of</strong> resources and care for <strong>the</strong> environment are <strong>the</strong> responsibility <strong>of</strong> each member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

College community.<br />

A well-devised Master Plan and maintenance strategy utilises <strong>the</strong> College’s resources in a manner that<br />

maximizes <strong>the</strong>ir full value.<br />

In <strong>the</strong> long term, we are committed <strong>to</strong> sustainability – in our buildings and our practices.<br />

RESOURCE MANAGEMENT<br />

Goal: The <strong>Academy</strong> manages its resources <strong>to</strong> ensure <strong>the</strong> provision <strong>of</strong> quality education.<br />

Outcomes<br />

a. A staff climate that is characterised by shared vision, a strong sense <strong>of</strong> team work and a focus<br />

on continuous improvement.<br />

b. Effective and supportive models <strong>of</strong> appraisal for all staff.<br />

c. The development and implementation <strong>of</strong> a leadership development plan for middle<br />

management leaders which builds capacity for strong distributed leadership across <strong>the</strong> College.<br />

d. A community <strong>of</strong> pr<strong>of</strong>essionals who each exercise stewardship for <strong>the</strong> common good.<br />

e. The successful implementation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Master Plan which provides an inviting, comfortable and<br />

appropriate learning environment.<br />

f. A stable enrolment.<br />

g. Enduring financial viability.<br />

h. Prudent risk management.<br />

i. Sufficient capital <strong>to</strong> meet <strong>the</strong> financial demands <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> College.<br />

j. A scholarship program that supports need and acknowledges student achievement and<br />

endeavour.<br />

Achievements<br />

‣ Appointment <strong>of</strong> a new Leadership Team position – Direc<strong>to</strong>r <strong>of</strong> School Operations. This new position<br />

embraces a number <strong>of</strong> areas including – Timetable, Daily organization, Website development and<br />

maintenance, Intranet Co-ordination. Establishing this position has enabled <strong>the</strong> streamlining <strong>of</strong> a<br />

number <strong>of</strong> smaller organizational areas <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> College in<strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> one position and provided <strong>the</strong> staff<br />

with one reference point. Given that this position is also a Leadership Team position, <strong>the</strong> Direc<strong>to</strong>r <strong>of</strong><br />

School Operations is able <strong>to</strong> provide ready and timely information <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> Leadership Team.<br />

‣ Appointment <strong>of</strong> a new Archivist.<br />
