2009: Dickerson became the first Pittsburgh tight<br />
end since Mike Ditka in 1960 to earn first-team<br />
All-American honors, receiving that recognition<br />
from the Football Writers Association, and<br />
second-team accolades from The <strong>NFL</strong> Draft Report…finalist<br />
for the John Mackey Award, given<br />
to the nation’s top tight end…became the first<br />
Pitt tight end to receive All-Big East Conference<br />
first-team honors (Dave Moore – 1991 and Kris<br />
Wilson – 2003, both were second-team choices)…finished<br />
second on the team with 49 receptions<br />
(3.77 rpg), the second-best season total by<br />
a Panthers tight end…gained 529 yards (10.8<br />
ypc), averaging 40.69 yards per game…his ten<br />
touchdown catches tied for sixth on the school’s<br />
overall season-record list and established a new<br />
mark for Pitt tight ends…among major college<br />
tight ends, only Dennis Morris of Louisiana Tech<br />
(12) had more scoring grabs during the course of<br />
the 2009 campaign…also returned a pair of kickoffs<br />
for 26 yards…averaged 42.69 all-purpose<br />
yards per game…in games that the tight end<br />
caught at least four passes, the Panthers <strong>com</strong>piled<br />
a 7-1 record…in contests where Dickerson<br />
registered a touchdown reception, Pitt won each<br />
of those seven games.<br />
2008: In his first season at tight end, Dickerson<br />
played in all 13 games, starting vs. Iowa and<br />
Syracuse…caught 13 passes for 174 yards (13.38<br />
ypc) and a pair of touch-downs…also carried<br />
twice on end-arounds, picking up 25 yards.<br />
2007: Dickerson played in all twelve games as a<br />
reserve strong-side outside linebacker behind<br />
Adam Gunn…recorded 15 tackles (seven solo)<br />
with an assisted stop behind the line of scrimmage,<br />
a quarterback pressure and a pass deflection…added<br />
56 yards on four kickoff returns<br />
(14.0 avg).<br />
2006: Dickerson appeared in eight games as a<br />
reserve receiver and kickoff returner as a true<br />
freshman…had a 5-yard reception vs. Central<br />
Florida and ran for 25 yards on three carries that<br />
included a 14-yard touchdown vs. Toledo and<br />
a 10-yard reverse vs. Syracuse…also returned<br />
