HIGH SCHOOL: Attended West Allegheny (Imperial,<br />
Pa.) High School, playing football for head<br />
coach Bob Palko, whose son, Tyler was a former<br />
quarterback at Pittsburgh…played a variety of<br />
positions, including wide receiver, running back,<br />
quarterback, safety, cornerback and kick returner…as<br />
a senior, he rushed for 1,429 yards on 182<br />
carries (7.9 ypc) and scored 30 touchdowns, while<br />
also having 22 receptions for 423 yards (19.2 ypc)<br />
with six scores, leading the Western Pennsylvania<br />
Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) with<br />
a total of 36 touchdowns, as the team captured<br />
their third-straight Class AAA title…on defense,<br />
Dickerson intercepted four passes that season,<br />
and was named Pennsylvania Class AAA Player<br />
of the Year by the Associated Press…Considered<br />
a four-star recruit by Rivals.<strong>com</strong>, he was rated the<br />
fifth-best prospect from Pennsylvania in the class<br />
of 2006…was the 2006 recipient of the Pittsburgh<br />
Athletic Association’s Mercury Award, annually<br />
presented to the top high school football player<br />
in Western Pennsylvania…also named the Pittsburgh<br />
Post-Gazette Player of the Year and was a<br />
member of the newspaper’s “Fabulous 22” team.<br />
He added Pittsburgh Tribune-Review “Terrific 25”<br />
and All-Class AAA accolades, in addition to being<br />
chosen to the Harrisburg Patriot-News “Platinum<br />
33” squad…after his senior season, Dickerson<br />
was named Keystone Recruiting’s Pennsylvania<br />
Class AAA Player of the Year and WPIAL Player of<br />
the Year…Rated the 35-best overall prospect and<br />
the fourth-best wide receiver in the country by<br />
Scout.<strong>com</strong>…that recruiting service also ranked<br />
him 11th on their East Region team…Rivals.<strong>com</strong><br />
rated him the sixth-best prospect in the state of<br />
Pennsylvania and the eighth-best athlete in the<br />
nation…earned All-American honors from Super<br />
Prep and was a member of Prep Star’s Dream<br />
Team, in addition to placing 74th on ESPN.<strong>com</strong>’s<br />
National Top 150 Recruits list…chosen to play<br />
in the U.S. Army All-American Game and participated<br />
in the All-American Bowl, an all-star game<br />
featuring the nation’s top 78 high school players<br />
at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas…as a<br />
junior, Dickerson rushed for 1,065 yards and 13<br />
touchdowns, while catching 25 passes for 517<br />
yards (20.7 ypc) and eight scores…during his<br />
three seasons with the varsity, West Allegheny<br />
earned three WPIAL Class AAA playoff berths and<br />
had a <strong>com</strong>bined 26-8 mark (.765)…also lettered in<br />
basketball and track.<br />
