2010 <strong>TEXANS</strong> NOTES<br />

ROAD WARRIORS<br />

The Texans have the AFC’s top road offense since 2008,<br />

averaging 390.1 yards of offense in their 21 road games<br />

since then.<br />

Houston led the <strong>NFL</strong> in road offense in 2009, averaging<br />

407.4 yards per game and is fourth this season with 399.2<br />

yards per game on the road. Houston was third in road<br />

offense in 2008 (367.3 yards per game).<br />

PROTECT THE BALL<br />

Under head coach Gary Kubiak, the Texans have placed<br />

heavy emphasis on not turning the ball over. Through 11<br />

games this season, Houston is tied with Philadelphia for<br />

the fourth fewest turnovers in the league with 12.<br />

A RUNNING PRIORITY<br />

The Texans have steadily improved their rushing performance<br />

under head coach Gary Kubiak. In 2010, Houston’s<br />

offense has produced its highest rushing totals through 11<br />

games in team history, continuing its progression under<br />

Kubiak’s guidance.<br />

OUR BETTER HALF<br />

The Texans rank seventh in the <strong>NFL</strong> in total offense, averaging<br />

367.7 net yards of offense per game. A majority<br />

of that yardage <strong>com</strong>es after halftime as the Texans rank<br />

31st in the <strong>NFL</strong> in first half offensive production, averaging<br />

only 135.2 yards. Only Carolina (110.8) average less in the<br />

first half.<br />

However, the Texans rank first in the second half offensive<br />

production, averaging 234.7 yards. The 99.5-yard<br />

improvement in average after halftime is tops in the <strong>NFL</strong><br />

and the reason why the Texans rank eighth overall in total<br />

offense.<br />
