QB Matt Schaub has been one of the most accurate
quarterbacks in the NFL from 2007-10, completing 66.4
percent of his pass attempts. Schaub hasn’t just dinked
and dunked his way down the field, however.
Schaub has averaged 7.91 yards per pass attempt since
joining the Texans in 2007, second-highest in the league
in that time. That average would rank ninth in NFL history.
Schaub’s overall career average of 7.77 yards per attempt
is 12th all-time.
SCHAUB AT THE TOP OF HIS CLASS
Texans QB Matt Schaub was a member of the draft class
of 2004, one which may go down as the greatest quarterback
draft class since 1983.
Two of the quarterbacks drafted that year have already
won the Super Bowl and a third has led his team to a
conference championship game. While Schaub has yet
to reach the postseason, his passing numbers more than
match up with those of his classmates.
Schaub has averaged 262.4 passing yards per game as
a starter, which is the highest among quarterbacks in the
2004 draft class.
