freestyle, 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay...set
the school record in the 100 butterfly and the 200
medley relay...was the sectional winner in the 50
freestyle as a senior...participated in track and field,
throwing shot put and discus, while running on 4x100
relay team...placed third in the state finals in the discus
in 2002...father, Shelvy, played basketball at Arkansas
State and uncle, Robert Lee Stewart, played
football at Oklahoma in the mid-1970s...brother,
Shelvy Jr., ran track at Arkansas State...is a classically-trained
pianist...mother, Robbia, made each of
her five children take piano lessons when they were
young...Stanford played in front of his church and
competed in a state competition when he was 12 and
13, winning a first place ribbon for his efforts.
