• Houston posted the second shutout victory in franchise<br />

history (at Jacksonville, 12/26/04), the first at Reliant Stadium<br />

and the first under head coach Gary Kubiak.<br />

• The win was the 24th for QB Matt Schaub as the Texans<br />

starter, making him the winningest quarterback in Houston<br />

Texans history. Schaub is 24-25 as a starter since 2007.<br />

• The Texans held Tennessee to 162 total net yards, the second-fewest<br />

yards allowed in franchise history (126 yards at<br />

Jacksonville, 12/26/04).<br />

• Houston held Tennessee to 24 rushing yards, which is the<br />

second-lowest total allowed in franchise history (18 at Washington,<br />

9/19/10). Tennessee entered the game tied for eighth<br />

in the <strong>NFL</strong> with 127.0 rushing yards per game.<br />

• Houston surrendered nine first downs to the Titans, tied for<br />

the third-fewest allowed in franchise history.<br />

• The Texans defense didn’t allow Tennessee into Houston<br />

territory until the 13:11 mark of the fourth quarter.<br />

• Houston held the ball for 39:41 in the game, the secondlongest<br />

time of possession in regulation in franchise history.<br />

• The Texans outrushed the Titans, 188-24. Houston has outrushed<br />

the opposition seven times this season and is 4-3 in<br />

those games.<br />

• Houston won the turnover battle, intercepting the Titans<br />

three times without giving up a turnover. The Texans improved<br />

to 1-2 this season when having a positive turnover<br />

margin.<br />

• Houston held Tennessee to 54 total net yards of offense in<br />

the first half, the fewest yards allowed in the opening half this<br />

season and the second-fewest given up in franchise history<br />

(50 vs. San Francisco on 10/25/09).<br />

• Houston shut out the Titans in the first half, marking the<br />

first time this season the Texans held an opponent scoreless<br />

in the opening half of play.<br />

• Houston held the Titans to four rushing yards in the first<br />

half, the fewest first-half rushing yards allowed in franchise<br />

history, bettering the previous mark of 10 yards earlier this<br />

season at Washington (9/19).<br />

• Dreessen also served as this week’s game captain. He<br />

joined season-long captains LB Kevin Bentley, WR Andre<br />

Johnson, QB Matt Schaub and DE Mario Williams at midfield<br />

for the coin toss.<br />

• RB Arian Foster surpassed 200 total yards for the second<br />

time this season, finishing the game with 218 total yards (143<br />

rushing, 75 receiving). He had 238 total yards in the season<br />

opener vs. Indianapolis (9/12).<br />

• Foster passed Domanick Williams (1,031 yards in 2003) for<br />

third on the Texans’ single-season rushing list. Foster’s 143<br />

yards gave him 1,147 for the season. It was Foster’s secondhighest<br />

rushing total of his career (231 yards vs. Indianapolis,<br />

9/12).<br />

• Foster tied a career single-game high with nine receptions<br />

and set a career single-game high with 75 receiving yards.<br />

• Foster recorded his sixth career 100-yard game, topping<br />

the century mark on a 37-yard run in the fourth quarter.<br />

• WR Andre Johnson caught his 60th pass of the season<br />

when he brought in a 21-yard pass in the first quarter. He became<br />

the first player in <strong>NFL</strong> history to catch at least 60 passes<br />

in each of his first eight seasons.<br />

• Johnson became the 42nd player in <strong>NFL</strong> history to catch<br />

650 career career pass when he hauled in his seventh reception<br />

of the game, a four-yard gain in the second quarter. He<br />

became the 42nd player in <strong>NFL</strong> history to catch at least 650<br />

career passes.<br />

• CB Glover Quin set the franchise single-season record<br />

with his third interception of the game late in the fourth quarter<br />

and recorded a career-high five passes defensed.<br />

• Quin made his first career interception when he picked<br />

off Tennessee QB Rusty Smith in the second quarter. He returned<br />

the interception 10 yards.<br />

• K Neil Rackers extended his streak of consecutive made<br />

field goals to 11 in a row with two field goals. It is the thirdlongest<br />

streak in franchise history.<br />

• Rackers increased his career tackle total to 44 with a stop<br />

in the third quarter, extending his lead as the leading tackler<br />

among kickers.<br />

• LB Brian Cushing led the team with seven tackles, including<br />

six solos. Cushing had four tackles for loss and a pair of<br />

passes defensed.<br />

• TE Joel Dreessen caught his fourth touchdown pass of<br />

the season on a one-yard pass from QB Matt Schaub in the<br />

second quarter and has caught touchdown passes in consecutive<br />

games for the first time in his career. He caught a<br />

43-yard touchdown in Week 11 at the New York Jets (11/21).<br />

• QB Matt Schaub <strong>com</strong>pleted 25-of-34 passes for 178 yards<br />

and two touchdowns with no interceptions, giving him a<br />

passer rating of 101.8. It was his fourth game this season<br />

with a rating of better than 100.<br />

• Schaub broke the franchise record for consecutive pass<br />

attempts without an interception when he threw his 35th pass<br />

of the game. That pass gave him 100 consecutive passes<br />

without an interception, bettering the previous mark of 99<br />

held by David Carr.<br />
