WHEN IN DOUBT, SEND IT DRE’S WAY
WR Andre Johnson has caught two touchdown passes
this season that have come at pivotal points in Texans
wins, tying the game at Washington in Week 2 in the fourth
quarter and providing the winning margin in the Week 6
win against Kansas City. But that’s nothing new for Johnson.
Sixteen of Johnson’s 47 career touchdown receptions
have come when the team is trailing by seven points or
less.
Since 2009, Johnson has pulled in 54 passes for 738
down by seven points or less. Only Reggie Wayne has
more receptions (55) and yards (774) in those situations
since 2009.
ALWAYS OPEN
WR Andre Johnson has been an integral part of the
Texans offense since the team drafted him third overall
in 2003. Johnson has averaged 5.82 receptions per game
in his career, the second-highest average in NFL history.
Since head coach Gary Kubiak was hired in 2006, Johnson
is averaging 6.59 catches per game, which would be
the most in NFL history.
