RB Arian Foster is in good but rare <strong>com</strong>pany with the<br />
numbers he has posted running the ball.<br />
Foster is one of just three players in <strong>NFL</strong> history to accumulate<br />
more than 500 rushing yards and 100 yards receiving<br />
in the season’s first four games. Foster had 537<br />
yards rushing and 152 yards receving through the first four<br />
games of the season to give him a league-best 689 yards<br />
from scrimmage. Only Pro Football Hall of Famer Emmitt<br />
Smith and Billy Sims join Foster in ac<strong>com</strong>plishing the feat.<br />

Foster also rushed for a franchise-record 231 yards and<br />
three touchdowns in the Texans’ 34-24 victory against<br />
Indianapolis in the season opener and became the first<br />
player in <strong>NFL</strong> history to rush for at least 200 yards and<br />
three touchdowns on Kickoff Weekend.<br />
His 231 yards on 33 carries ranked second only to O.J.<br />
Simpson’s 250 yards in an <strong>NFL</strong> season opener. Foster is<br />
the seventh player all-time to reach 200 rushing yards on<br />
Kickoff Weekend.<br />
FOSTERING ATTENTION<br />
Texans RB Arian Foster set numerous team records in<br />
the season opener against with a performance that put<br />
the former undrafted free agent on the national sports<br />
scene just seven games and two starts into his career.<br />
Foster was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week<br />
and voted FedEx Ground Player of the Week by fans on<br />
<strong>NFL</strong>.<strong>com</strong> after he ran for 231 yards on 33 carries with three<br />
touchdowns against the Colts, all marks that either set or<br />
tied team records. He rushed for the second-most yards<br />
ever in an <strong>NFL</strong> season opener and is the only <strong>NFL</strong> back to<br />
rush for three touchdowns and more than 200 yards in a<br />
season opener.<br />
